What God is Calling Us to Do

One hundred forty years ago God called a small group of people to share Christ’s love and calling to this community; SS. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church was born out of that call. A few faithful people planted and nurtured seeds that grew into what SS. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church is today.

Through the years, people of faith and hope have responded to God’s call, overcoming obstacles, building up buildings for ministry while building up people in Christ, responding to each new challenge and opportunity as God blessed a growing testimony in this community.

Could any of those saints have imagined where we stand today, with three worship services and discipleship and outreach programs filling our facilities many days and evenings?

And yet we are who we are today because of their hope and commitment.

Now God calls you and me to see tomorrow from God’s own perspective. Now God calls us to make history. Now God calls forth our hope and commitment as we respond to new opportunities and challenges for witness.

The journey of faith continues at SS. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church and now it is time to walk boldly where God leads – On Holy Ground. One day, another generation of believers will give thanks for our faith and witness, even as they seek God’s way in their lives.

This is a time when the church, responding to God’s amazing grace and continued blessing, takes the next step toward God’s purpose for the Copper Country area. We can only imagine how God will multiply our gifts.

More than a building will be raised here. We can only imagine the lives that will be changed and people that will be reached for Christ in the years to come. As God gives us glimpses of tomorrow, may God also lead each of us to see what we can do today, along our journey of faith On Holy Ground, to faithfully shape the promise of tomorrow.
